baby ellie!

we have a new baby girl in the family! her name's elizabeth (although karen and i are trying to get the nickname ellie to stick) and she's one week old today. i can't wait to see what a beautiful girl she grows up to be but until then, i have this tiny little baby to hold. seriously, she's so little and so delicate, i'm afraid i'll break when i hold her.

i didn't mean for this haiku to rhyme, but it just kind of worked out that way.

bright eyes, button nose,
tiny fingers, teeny toes --
with you, my heart grows.

sickly sweetheart

poor rkd is sick. it's really hard to get up in the morning and get ready for work when he's still in in bed sleeping. i know he's sick and feeling like poop, but i still like being under the covers with him.

i like bike

we looked at bicycles this weekend. rkd has been wanting one for a while now so we finally had time to go out to linus bikes in venice for a test ride. we each took one out a test-ride. at one point, i looked at rkd and he had the biggest smile on his face while riding around on his future fixed gear. i think we both forgot how much fun it is on a bike.

rkd took me on a surprise mini vacation labor day long weekend getaway to palm springs. so cute, so romantic, and oh-so-hot! we spent the weekend mainly poolside at the ace hotel, with occasional midday naps, lots of cool cocktails and great eats. we also had time for the desert zoo, gambling, and most fun of all, vroom-vrooming around on our scooter. i was withering in the 110+ degree heat but since i was with my honey and my favorite pup, i couldn't complain. it was the perfect weekend.
